10th - 22nd July - International & Global Citizenship weeks

Starting on the 10th of July will be our second International Week here at IAG. Across the week students will explore International themes through workshops, master classes, experiences and a week long enquiry. All subject areas will be focused on supporting an interdisciplinary study of the chosen International theme.


International Week

Driving Question:

‘No Man is an island’ - what does this mean in the context of Internationalism?


Inquiry Questions:

English - 'distance and borders and division are merely a matter of perspective.' Explore. A creative writing response to the Earth Rise image.

IndSoc - An enquiry into Codes, Enigma and Internationalism.

Science - How can we raise (international) awareness of mental illness using commercial advertising?

Languages - How can bilingualism help us to be international? Work and Careers

Arts - How have artists collaborated globally to share their vision of the world?

Advisory - Global Citizenship attribute review


Tuesday Period 5 & 6 - Showcase

Year 7-9 Service as Action lessons

Year 7 only - External worksop - Monday Period 3 & 4 How can language help use to be international? Language and Linguistics Olympiad.


On the 12th of July will be our first IAG Sports Day.


Building on International Week will be Global Citizen week (17th-22nd July). Our focus across this week will be the development of the learner attributes and undertaking community project work as part of our Service in Action curriculum. All subject areas will be focused on supporting an interdisciplinary study of the chosen Global Citizen themes.

  • Unit 5 teaching continues until Tuesday 9th July

  • Showcase and International week Launch Wednesday 10th. 

  • Thursday 11th - International Week programme (themed lessons delivered through subjects and by regular timetabled lessons and teachers)

  • Friday 12th Sports Day 

  • Monday and Tuesday International Week programme (themed lessons delivered through subjects and by regular timetabled lessons and teachers) culminating in mini Showcase. 

  • Wednesday 17th - Global Citizenship week programme begins 

  • Monday 22nd - Global Citizenship week programme end. Last day of term, year group awards ceremonies - Year 7 and 9 graduation. Advisory based activities. 

  • Dismiss from 4:00pm.
